Wolves are born to breed. And Mila's blood was some of the rarest and most coveted, the most arousing, regal... powerful. Yet, she lives alone; hiding in America since childhood as a refugee of a great den war, having already watched everyone she's ever cared about die around her. She refuses to give into the urges of her wolf blood and allow herself to change, especially as she would then become a beacon to the wolf that, years ago as a child, marked her against her will. And worse, she would want to be found. Becoming the wolf could mean losing the will of her own heart. Still, she is done running and ready to take a stand.

When Landon wanders onto her property hunting the wolves responsible for his parents' death, she allows the wounded human to recover in her home against her better judgment. They soon discover they share a common enemy, and an attraction unlike anything the strong, stubborn and powerful young blueblood has ever experienced. But when the looming battle descends upon them, they must both learn to trust each other if they want to survive.

According to Mila's description, Landon is at least 6'4" with broad shoulders and muscular build. His eyes are beautiful, not green or blue but a soft grey that lingers in-between. More bodily description is hidden in the story. Anyway he is optimistic about success. Given his background in the military, he possessed leadership in him. What the heck is with leadership anyway? Is he gonna lead a business company in the middle of an isolated forest? lol Survival, duh. Sarcasm aside. For me he is not a complicated character. He has this teenage/boyish attitude in him and he is such a flirt *blushes. Damn I could kiss his grin off.

"Why Mila," he said, leaning in playfully, "are you telling me that you would lead me into a trap knowingly? One that would cause me significant," he spoke more slowly, "bodily," his mouth was so close to her ears, "harm?"

Myrna Evangeline Vucemilovic (my tongue just got twisted). This girl.. This girl is bad-ass. I cannot say more. lol jk.. Well she has a strawberry blonde hair with emerald green eyes and according to Landon "... you have the most amazing green eyes I've ever seen, but I'm pretty sure just behind them is a whole lot of crazy and you have about as much social skill.". She has some skeleton in the closet thats why she is stubborn and highly guarded. She has an aggressive side, aggressive in terms of "sticks and stones may break my bones but 'L and on' excite me" lol no bondage, i swear.

Even the looming threat couldn't keep her eyes from wandering to the hard muscles of his body as he worked, or her thoughts from drifting to everything Landon, his smell, his deep voice, his boyish grin, and the way he made her forget about the threat and memory of death all around them.

This book has me hooked in my seat to the point I shrugged off my growling stomach. I thought it would be a typical wolf-vampire story, but alas there is no vampire involve. Anyway the author has her way of putting the right elements into the whole story to make it unique to other stories that has the same genre per se. The typical meeting-to-know each other with flirting involve is not quite present in the story, they had this lots of exchanging questions and Landon rants a lot. Well Mila is mysterious so I get him and come on, if given the chance you would not let that hot guy out of your sight so let your creativity work so that he would not be out of sight, out of mind(pffft).

Their friendly relationship is smooth but guarded. It is Landon, who first open up about his dark secrets as to why he is in the forest with all those guns (ammo and etc.) that are not suitable for hunting. The story progresses so as their affection to each other, until all feelings broke loose and the ever kept arousal is unleashed. And that, ladies and gentlemen is the reason why Mila's secret is revealed. I was like "Holy Sheephanzee, did that just happen?". You want to know what is her secret? I'll leave it to you to investigate (heh).

The explanation about Wolf history, Mila's genealogy or Bane whatso-pancake-ever is not that appealing to me. It is a long read you know, given it is in the 3rd POV(well, me and 3rd POV has things yet to settle) and encountering foreign words(just a few) because she is an effin Croatian, is a stir to my brain. I was like "wait what was that again? ja vam izazfdsbcv..." well here comes google translate and there we have it, the meanings. But it is not there just so the book would contain some colourful wording. Everything is connected so you better read and understand. Well the story has its magnetism that will pull you to read those stuffs, --with a dash of willingness too (you can do it).

Every story has a villain and in Draw of the Bane guess what, the main villain ditch the first book. I really thought that he would show off and claim what's his but damn the author tricked me (haha). I'm actually a bit nervous because maybe this guy will be another swoon worthy character and Landon's match to Mila's heart. Damn I hope so not. But let's just see, another drool worthy character won't hurt the imagination.

Well here comes the part, the ever so awesome ending. It is a happy(?) ending. Quite possibly everything is fine, its just that it is a series so the Landon(heart)Mila love story will probably resume on the next book (duh). There is a lot more in the story so you better grab a copy and stuck your nose in it. I wanna read the second book. *le excited.

Author's Biography

I have always loved to write. My first book, a novella of short stories titled "Complements of a Dying Man" about losing my young husband to cancer, was a test to learn how to upload my work into Amazon. I was touched by the feedback and positive reviews which describe it as both humorous and heartfelt.

But my real love is writing adult, paranormal romance. My first novel in The Blueblood Legacies series, Draw of the Bane, is out now. I'm currently writing the sequel, Rise of the Red Wolf.

I live with one hot fiancĂ© and two stubborn little girls who take after their mother (I know, pray for the man of the house). I have a serious addiction to coffee & diet coke, which I have no plans to stop, eat chocolate like they're going to quit making it, and treat April Fools Day as if it were a serious holiday, because, it is. You've been warned.

Compliments of A Dying Man

An exerpt

You would think that loving a dying person would be difficult. On the contrary, it was the easiest thing I've ever done; far easier than building the world's largest awareness ribbon in his memory, or explaining to two little girls that their father was dying, and definitely easier than learning to accept that I would ever love another man after he was gone. Oh sure, there were tears. But, he made me laugh in a dreary hospital room. He made me laugh while his heart was being shocked on a table in the ER, while being tricked into eating (by me), and even now as I think about the memory of him which remains, I laugh. The man gave me no other option. He complemented our lives with laughter, and so does his memory.

Back-Up (Back-Up #1)

4.27 of 5 stars
THERE'S A NEW ROCK STAR IN TOWN AND HIS NAME IS JACK LAIR…

Leila Marino’s biggest dream is to become a rock star. A lucky opportunity has her auditioning with an up & coming rock band named Devil’s Lair. The band hires Leila as their back-up singer, signing her up for months in the studio and touring on the road with the sexy bunch.

Jack is the quintessential rock star…gorgeous…sexy…a walking orgasm. Jack Lair is the lead singer of Devil’s Lair and his dreams are becoming reality as his band climbs the ladder of success. He’s living the perfect life, and enjoying every minute of it. With a steady stream of sexual conquests that satisfies his raging libido, he thinks he has all he needs in life…until Leila enters it.

Jack is not prepared for the sudden pull he feels towards Leila, and struggles daily to deny his attraction is anything more. Leila finds falling for her new boss is constant torment. Both convince themselves friendship is their only option.

An intimate moment causes their willpower to collapse, and their erotic love affair to begin. Finding love was a bonus that neither Jack nor Leila anticipated. As they begin their tour together professionally and personally, life couldn’t be any better for the couple. Until a mistake from Jack’s past threatens their new relationship, and their perfect future together.

Minor spoilers are there :)
Prepare to be blown away folks. This book just got into my system and I can't get enough of it. The story speaks
of dreams, opportunities, friendship, love and steaming hot sex. It has the right blend of emotions and the
consistency of the story makes it captivating to read till the end. The author makes the characters easy to
understand. You would instantly fall in love with the protagonists and their attitude. The humour is present, I
had my ass laughing in some sarcastic come backs and flirting-gone-wrong (just a few though).
I would tell you now. Jack is a slut, our male protagonists. He has issues with his raging hormones since he was
young that’s why he can't get enough of any women's company (as long as she’s hot, and he prefers brunettes).
But I tell you what I can't get enough of his long and muscular drool worthy body with bulging biceps,
spectacular upper torso and.. I’ll leave the other attributes for you to explore (hah). At first I'm annoyed by his
sluttiness because damn he is like cheating even though he hasn't yet concluded his feelings for Leila. Of course
being a reader you would already know that this guy will end up loving this girl so they must be together from
the start but NO. The author shows us a glimpse of what this guy can do and will do to relieve his itch which is
kind of "No your dick will be curse if you do that.. Staahhhpp" (just kidding). Frustrating I say. But you know
every guy has his match and it sometimes takes a girl for him to change and see the other side of things.
Who is this girl anyway? Well I introduce to you people, Leila Marino. She is described in the story as a perfect
girl, with all her beauty and talent. She has been surrounded by love since she was a kid, great pack of friends
and her dreams being supported (kinda) by the ones she loves. She has some issues with cheating, thanks to his
ex. When Jack and Leila met during her audition as a backup singer of Devil’s Lair, the attraction was already
there, though it was more emphasize on Leila's POV. She is just perfect for Mr. CCDS smile, that’s what she
calls him (read the book to find out its meaning, if you don't know it yet). I can't say that she has insecurities but
the way she asses some girls leaves me thinking that maybe she has, well girls will be girls. She usually let logic
work but when arousal takes over then fuck logic. She starts to stare and fantasize or any hormones-induced
female would do. Who would not anyway, when Mr. Sex on Legs is in front of you.
The first parts of the story kinda bore me. It is not actually boring but it was uneventful in a way that I thought it
will start at Jack and Leila's involvement to each other in a full blown way. Instead, there are lots of
introductions of Leila's band mates, friends, family and some extended characters. Those are not just brief
introductions, she tells stories about them so few chapters are long because of those. Same as Jack (not really).
But as the story advance you would find out that every one of them has involvement on what is happening.
Those band mates and friends are fun to have. I’m glad they are there because they added life to the story. So
just continue rowing the pages. As for Jack and Leila, they had this love/hate relationship . I'm surprised at how
they keep their "horniness" at bay. Well, keeping those feelings actually
triggers things at some point. So things that are not expected to happen just happen. All in all as clichĂ© as it is, I
don't like it, I LOVE it. Finished in one sitting and recalled many times what just happened because damn their
profound love is being tested... You guys should
read this and experience the rush of emotions this book offers
