“I own you. I have the piece of paper to prove it. It’s undeniable and unbreakable. You belong to me until you’ve paid off your debts.”
Nila Weaver’s family is indebted. Being the first born daughter, her life is forfeit to the first born son of the Hawks to pay for sins of ancestors past. The dark ages might have come and gone, but debts never leave. She has no choice in the matter.
She is no longer free.
Jethro Hawk receives Nila as an inheritance present on his twenty-ninth birthday. Her life is his until she’s paid off a debt that’s centuries old. He can do what he likes with her—nothing is out of bounds—she has to obey.
There are no rules. Only payments.
A modern day Dark Erotic Romance

MY REVIEW

I am shocked. I am surprised by this book. This is completely different from her other books. I am surprised in a good way. Interesting plot and different. Pepper has surprised me with this book really. Jethro is not the hero you will expect. There are many things which is unanswered but I hope I will find them as I read more. This book is not for weak heart who doesn't like dark ,too raw and gritty books. Here is the warning---> If you liked Tears of Tess don't compare that to this one. Pepper has pushed her limits and written this which is incredible with a new different story about debt and Jethro is collecting it. This book is darker and twists and turns because we have no idea what will happen. Each character has a little story which plays an important part in it. With the ending like that I have to wait for next book . This book is just the beginning.

Excerpt: Debt Inheritance:  Meet Jethro & Nila

ONE - Nina's POV
Huge disappointment, Ms. Weaver.” His cold glare sent a snowstorm wiping away the bonfire in my belly. “I’m done playing games, so cut the bullshit. Time to begin the day.” His voice gave no room for interpretation. A cold draft shot down my back.
My brief reprieve from debts and horrible Hawks was over. I’d been shown something I desperately wanted, but denied it because I failed to please him.
“You could teach me…show me how…” I couldn’t make eye contact with him. Mortification painted my cheeks for both admitting I was clueless and asking a monster to coach me.
Jethro laughed. “You think that will save you from what’s coming? Was that your little plan? To make me fuck you in the hopes I might feel something for you?”

**
TWO - Jethro's POV

I stood up slowly, clicking my tongue. “Ah, ah, ah, Ms. Weaver. Don’t take that tone with me. You’re the failure. You’re the prisoner. You take what I give you. You do not assume to have any say or authority. That includes listening to everything I deem important to tell you.” Ghosting to a stop in front of her, I murmured, “Is that quite understood?”
I flexed my muscles, welcoming back the soothing chillness of control. I hadn’t liked stepping outside my confines of civility. Things got messy when silence was disrupted. Things got rushed when tempers rose and curses flowed.
And I didn’t want to rush her undoing. I wanted to savour it. Devour it.

My Review

Wow

captivating

addiction

A very strong book I have to say. This book will have your heart from he start. It deals with abuse which is a sensitive topic for me so please proceed with caution. The topic of abuse and how the character comes out of it i.e is Kinley is impressive and realistic. She is still strong and has the power to come back to life even though the life had given her no reason to live.

This book about healing, it talks bout getting help, it talks about a push from a right person. I think when a right person comes into your life everything is put into place. This book is funny as well..you will be giggling ,laughing, smiling the whole time while dealing with a very serious issue.

You all got to read this book as soon as possible! recommended to all people who love a good romance, hot guy ;) beautiful writing and a touching plot :)

Quotes:
People thought the devil had red eyes.  He didn’t.  They were dark brown, almost black.

“You are delicate, feminine, soft.  I fucking love that.  Makes me want to wrap you up and carry you off somewhere.  Isn’t that what every man wants?”
“Tonight, you’re dancing.  We are dancing, and you’re gonna fucking love it.”
When he licks his lips and they’re left shiny, another sound escapes me; a whimper or a groan, some desperate sound of a woman caught.  And I was.  I was caught so good.

I feel his breath first.  He parts his lips and his warm exhale hits me so hard my knees almost give out.  He watches me as I watch him seal his mouth over the front of my lace thong.  I feel his thumbs move on my hips where they’re underneath the straps and see his arms and chest muscles bulge.  Danny closes his mouth and pulls the lace away from my body.  It goes easily and he drops it.  That’s when I realize he ripped my lingerie off of me, one handed, without me even knowing.

Excerpt 1:
I’m not dead yet. I made it through the night. Another sunrise, another goodbye kiss. While stepping on the treadmill, I pray I get to run tomorrow too. My ribs ache as I pick up speed. I breathe in through my nose and slowly exhale through my mouth. My kidneys feel like giant boulders with each hurtful movement. For two hours I run, and not only because I have to. I run because this is the only time I am allowed out of my prison.
My eyes stare, unseeing, out of the floor to ceiling window overlooking the city below. The city goes about its business five stories down, but I don't see sky, glass, metal or traffic. I see the images conjured up by the ear buds blasting music through my head; images of my mom as I was growing up, teaching me everything she loved; images of my father imparting sage advice. I think about how things used to be, and it’s the only time I allow myself to go to those memories. If I didn't lock them away, I'd lose my mind.
Shrill beeping goes off in my ears, startling me so much I trip as my sneaker drags over the conveyer belt of the treadmill. I snag the arm rails desperately and move my feet quickly to the sides. I breathe deeply and push the big red stop button on the machine, then set up a five-minute cool-down walk. When the speed is set, I force my hands to let go of the bars and move naturally at my sides. I don't want to think about where I have to go in five minutes, or where I'll be in five hours, five days.
My skin breaks out in a new kind of sweat; one different from what’s currently coating my skin. This one is cold and stinks of fear. I stare straight ahead to the building of windows across the street and try to wipe this perspiration away. But it keeps secreting itself from my pores, stinging my eyes, making them water. My skin feels overheated, yet chills break out over my body. My breathing gets shallower, and I can feel my heart picking up speed, rather than slowing.
I close my eyes and try to take a breath, but it feels as though there's a band around my chest, like a python squeezing tighter. My vision tunnels. My shaking hands reach for my iPhone resting in the cup holder, the one with only one number in it. My palm slaps the red stop button firmly and I stagger away to the locker rooms as quickly as possible before my knees give way.

Excerpts

EXCERPT #1

“You’re not exactly a ten, Katie.” Grayson laughed cruelly, reminding Katie
why she left to begin with. “No one is going to love you for your mind like I do,
not in this town. I’m your best option, and I don’t understand why you did this
to us.”
“I think she’s a ten,” a man called from behind them.
Goose bumps danced over Katie’s skin, and she wasn’t sure why until she
craned her neck to look toward the direction of the low, male voice. Her body
must have recognized what her mind hadn’t caught up with, because walking
over to them was Marcos Rivera. He was wearing sunglasses and a baseball hat,
but it was undeniably him. She could see the snake tattoo on his arm from there.
He looked larger than life in the late afternoon sun with those impossibly
broad shoulders and large, bunched biceps covered in tribal tattoos. She couldn’t
help but notice that every inch of him seemed wound tight and ready to jump—
like a tiger stalking prey. She blinked, understanding for the first time all those
warnings Jules had been leveling at her in regards to Marcos.
This wasn’t the kind, handsome angel from the crash site.
This Marcos looked deadly.
He took off his sunglasses when he stopped in front of them. His light gaze
rested on the steely grasp Grayson still had on her arm. “This is the part where
you let her go.”
“Excuse me?” Grayson huffed in that annoying superior voice of his that had
always embarrassed Katie when he used it in public, usually toward someone
parking their car or waiting on them at a restaurant. “This is my wife and—”
“Ex-wife,” Katie corrected before Grayson could finish. She was still staring at
Marcos in shock, unable to believe he was really standing there in front of her.
“What are you doing here?”
Marcos broke the dangerous staring contest he was having with Grayson. He
let his gaze run over her hotly for one long moment, making more goose bumps
dance over her arms. A small bit of the tension eased out of his powerful frame,
and the look in his beautiful eyes became warm just like she remembered. “I got
your messages.”
“My messa—” Katie cheeks heated when she realized what he was talking
about and her voice was a squeak of acknowledgement. “Oh.”
There was a quiet moment between them, one charged enough that Katie
was actually breathless to be in his presence again after so long. Strangely enough,
she could feel it off Marcos too. That electric fission of need so overwhelming it
actually showed on his face and translated into something tangible enough that
even someone as romantically challenged as Katie could sense it. As if
remembering they weren’t alone, Marcos cleared his throat and turned back to
Grayson, his eyes narrowed in warning once more.
“Yeah, I’m gonna have to insist you get your hands off her.” He eyed
Grayson’s hold on her arm pointedly. “Now.”
