My REVIEW of Lost in Vengeance by H R Savage
Shifter Catrina Macintyre has roamed the wilderness of Alaska as a lone wolf for six years. Imprisoned in her wolf form by a promise to her mother, she seeks the opportunity to discover the truth about her parents’ murders. When an Alpha saves her and takes her to his pack, she has to decide whether he will aid her...or destroy her.
Killian Stone is the Alpha of Wolf Creek, determined to save what the Shifter race is quick to dismiss or kill: lone-Shifters. After years of disappointment, finding Cat was a relief. That is until the intriguing and challenging she-wolf reveals a past that could put his pack in danger.
Their undeniable attraction toward each other threatens to collapse Cat’s defensive walls. She’s torn between the hope of a future, and the lingering pain of her past. The truth may be more than either of them anticipated, threatening not only Cat, but the whole Shifter race.
Will Killian convince Cat to abandon her quest for vengeance before it destroys them all?

This was a very amazing read. I was very surprised with this book and I'm so happy that I read it. I was never a shifters fan but after reading this, I am sure I will be reading more about it! I hope H.R Savage writes more about this series. I would love to read Jamie and Sullivan. She definitely writes story where you sure feel something for the winners as well.
The love between Killian and Cat was sweet, hot and touching. There are lots to take in when you fall in love and love makes us crazy and ready to face any danger that comes with it. The story line created by the author is very deep and well developed. You will be lost in the suspense. Cat is looking for revenge and will she be able to handle herself when she finds the culprit? Will she be able to control herself and save the ones she loves? Will Killian accept Cat and fight for her? Will both of them find love together?
These are the questions you will have when you read it. Highly recommended!

INTERVIEW
Q) Sooooo…How do we start? Hmm...Tell us something or anything about you?
Oh gosh, this question always gets to me because I never know how to answer. I’m from Southern California, and no I don’t like living here lol. I would move if I could! I’m obsessed with Scotland, and was before Outlander aired on TV (haha). One biggie is that when people meet me in person, they don’t think I can write (or read) such sexy stuff. Apparently I look really innocent. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing!
Q) What were you before becoming an author? Tell us in brief!
I was a stay at home mom, and now I’m an Administrative Assistant on top of being an author. I wish I had more time to write like I did when I was staying home, but the job has been nice.
Q) Tell us about your journey from reader/Blogger to an author?
Reading was an escape for me growing up, and I started reading romance at a very young age. All the sudden I would get these story ideas in my head and start writing them. I’ve almost always written in some way, but struggled to complete a story and stay interested in it. Then I became a stay at home mom, and one day I had the dream. The one that inspired Lost in Vengeance. Blogging just kind of fell into place at one point while writing, and I don’t update the blog as much as I should.
Q) What are the few difficulties you faced in your journey?
Oh gosh that list can go on haha. The first huge difficulty was when my characters ended up with multiple personality syndrome. They were about 5 different characters rolled into one. I basically had to re-outline everything, interview my characters, then go back and completely re-write every scene for eight chapters.
Another issue I had was deciding on publisher vs. Self publishing. That was really hard for me. I desperately wanted to self publish but knew that I couldn’t afford to do it the way I felt was the “right” way. So I got to suffer through months of submitting to agents and publishers, crossing my fingers that someone would love my book as much as I do.
Q) Killian is so hot! Did you have a muse while writing him? I loved his steamy scenes with Cat! :D DAMN HOT!
Oh god, I’m happy you think so. In a way, I think Killian was a mish-mash of a couple muses. The closest I could probably come to a physical representation of him would probably be a young Hugh Jackman. (Think Wolverine lol). Although...I did see a Thunder From Down Under dancer who could have definitely fit in for him ;-)
Q) Tell us about few of your weird habits? ;) We all have them- I hate wearing pants and most of the time I am pantless lol
I don’t like wearing shoes. A huge influence on Cat’s hate for footwear was from me lol. I will walk out to the mailbox barefoot, all over my backyard, strip them off at the beach. Anywhere I can get away without wearing them.
Q) Why made you decide to write about shifters? Did you do any research while writing?
It wasn’t necessarily a decision. I had a dream, I wrote about it, and I went with it. But I did put a decent amount of research into the mythological background. With any paranormal/fantasy element it’s important to make a backstory, so I created one using Celtic Mythology. I may not be 100% accurate, but I tried to be. I also went to a small zoo in Big Bear called Big Bear Alpine Zoo at Moonridge. They have some beautiful wolves there that have been rehabilitated. Then I needed a glossary for some of the words because I realized how hard they are to pronounce. I think that was the hardest part! There’s not too much on the internet regarding how to spell the pronunciation for Scottish Gaelic words.
Q) Who was your muse while writing Cat? She is definitely my favorite heroine and her strength really surprised me. :)
A huge muse for Cat was Khaleesi from Game of Thrones. She started out this weak, almost helpless woman who grew to be strong and courageous because of circumstance. I’m glad you enjoyed her. She was really hard to capture; such a mix of innocence, vulnerability and strength.
Q) What are your next plans? What are you writing next? Please tell us it’s Jamie please!!!
Oh, god I’m so excited! The second book in the Wolf Creek Shifters story is being edited right now. Found in Hope is about Jamie and Skylar, a new character who will be introduced. They were so much fun to write, and I think you’re going to love them.
I’m also writing the third book, which is Aidan and Fallon’s (Killian’s sister) book. I have no idea when I’ll be done with it though!
Q) Do you want to add anything else? We would love to know any secret :D Also check out my review! It’s five stars!
I saw your review! Thank you so much :-) It’s such a treat to hear from readers who love the book as much as I do. Not many take the time to leave one, but it really boosts our confidence.
If you want to see any extra features, such as a playlist for my books or the glossary on how to pronounce certain words, please check out my website at www.hrsavage.com.
As for a secret...I do have on that I haven’t told anyone yet ;-) I’m working on a fun little novella (if you can call it that) for after Found in Hope releases. It’s going to be another Cat and Killian story, and will be completely free. Something happens in Found in Hope that I thought needed to be elaborated on. So make sure to follow me for updates on when that’ll be coming out!
Thank you for the interview Shweta. It was great answering these and seeing what you thought of Lost in Vengeance.
ABOUT H.R Savage
Author H.R. Savage (Heather) started reading romance at an age that made her father cringe as she tried to hide the cover behind her hands. She technically finished writing her first book in Junior High, where it mysteriously disappeared in a reformatting incident. Due to the encouragement of her English teachers at her small town school in La Verne, California, she never lost her love for the art. Now a woman who swears by the power of coffee, Chinese food, and wine (not necessarily in that order), she decided it was time to create stories from the characters in her head.
When Heather isn’t writing, outlining, or pinning pictures of hot ‘character inspirations’ on Pinterest™, she is spending time with her two beautiful children, handsome husband, and dramatically energetic Australian shepherd at their home in San Bernardino, CA.
